Baby Dedications
A Blessing and a Commitment
Children are a gift from God, and as parents, we have the privilege of dedicating them back to Him. Just like Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord, baby dedications are a beautiful ceremony where parents, their village, and the church community come together to commit to raising and supporting the child in the Lord.
During the dedication, parents commit to:
1. Loving each other well, setting the blueprint for their child to see how a godly man treats a woman and how a godly woman treats a man.
2. Loving and raising their child in the ways of the Lord, knowing that a child's first understanding of God’s love comes from how they are loved at home.
3. Teaching their child about God and making faith a central part of their upbringing.
The village—family, friends, and the church—also commits to:
1. Supporting the parents, ensuring they have what they need to be at their best.
2. Loving and guiding the child, ensuring they grow up surrounded by faith, encouragement, and prayer.
3. Praying for the baby, standing together in faith for their future.
